About Katie White

With a passion for numbers, and putting puzzle pieces together, at age 18 Katie set off to college with her dreams set on being an accounting major. Fast forward 4 years and Katie was graduating from the University of New Hampshire with a Bachelors in Social Work! After obtaining her MBA from Brandeis University a few years later, Katie spent over 15 years working in the health and wellness industry serving in roles from project management to operations management to business development.

Through it all, her heart has always been with the numbers looking at data, budgets, financial reports, etc. She took the leap in 2016 to switch careers into accounting and hasn’t looked back! Her 18-year-old self really did know what she wanted!

In Loving Memory of Jessi

With heavy hearts, we share the passing of Jessi – an irreplaceable part of the Cents and Balance team and someone who left a lasting mark on all of us. More than a bookkeeper, she was an integral part of our team and our day-to-day life.

Many of you knew Jessi lived with Cystic Fibrosis (CF). Her life with CF wasn’t defined by one moment – it was a long journey with brighter stretches, difficult seasons, and the in-between days that required extra strength. Through it all, Jessi showed up with determination, resilience, and a steady commitment to her work and the people she supported.

The kindness, flexibility, and encouragement our clients and community showed Jessi meant more than we can put into words. Thank you for the grace you gave her when she needed it most.

Through organ transplants and recovery, Jessi remained strong, committed, and deeply dedicated to her work. We’re profoundly grateful for the privilege of working alongside her, learning from her, and having her as part of the Cents and Balance family.

We will always honor Jessi for her strength, her spirit, and the way she showed up for others.

Cystic Fibrosis Awareness

Cystic Fibrosis is a genetic condition that affects the body’s ability to move salt and water properly, which can impact breathing and digestion. In the United States, tens of thousands of people live with CF, and today many are identified early through newborn screening—often within the first years of life. While every person’s experience is different, CF can require ongoing treatment, frequent medical care, and a strong support system.

Organizations like the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation provide education, advocacy, and community support for people living with CF and the families, schools, and caregivers who walk alongside them.

Because Jessi’s story also included organ transplants, we also want to spotlight the life-changing impact of organ donation and the organizations that support donors, recipients, and their families.
